The Department of Environmental Defense of the Sardinia Region, and in particular the Environmental Sustainability, Strategic Evaluation and Information Systems Service (SVASI) has always been institutionally committed to disseminating and raising awareness of issues relating to environmental sustainability and sustainable development. 

With the approval of Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development “Sardegna2030”, in full coherence with the National Strategy and Agenda 2030, the Region of Sardinia intended to take up the challenge of translating the objectives of the Strategy into long-term programmatic objectives and to set up decision-making processes capable of integrating environmental protection, social inclusion and health, for personal and collective growth. 

The Service, through the definition of tools for the promotion and dissemination of environmental sustainability principles and criteria, carries out actions to promote environmental education and sustainability in Sardinia through the coordination network of Environmental and sustainability education centres (CEAS) and through international cooperation projects for education for sustainable citizenship in the perspective of GOOD LIFE for all. It also deals with planning interventions and support tools for the promotion, dissemination and monitoring of Ecological Public Procurement. 

In implementation of the Sardinia2030 strategy, shared planning of "urban forestry” in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. A "work table on urban forestation" was also opened with the University of Cagliari and other partners, also in order to grasp the design synergies between the various territorial stakeholders.
