CTE – House of Emerging Technologies
ACTION DESCRIPTION
The Cagliari Digital Lab project, launched with Public Notice on October 17, 2022, at the House of EMerging Technologies under the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), is an exciting endeavor that seeks to connect scientific expertise with the entrepreneurial spirit. It offers a journey of growth, beginning with the development of new skills and exploring innovative ideas through prototypes and demonstrations in different research projects. The ultimate goal is to make these groundbreaking innovations accessible to the wider community, empowering individuals and businesses through training initiatives, mentorship programs, establishing new startups, and transferring cutting-edge technology to existing companies.
The various projects and setups of the technology laboratories encompass a dual approach, both physical within the spaces of the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti and virtual through a sophisticated system of Open APIs, made available to startups, companies, and the wider community.
The project provides a range of technology transfer activities for businesses, including four pathways specifically designed for startups and companies aiming to develop innovative solutions in organizational, technological, and business model areas related to 4G technologies. In a spirit of collaborative knowledge-building, participating startups and aspiring entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to rethink and refine their organizational models, while exploring new business prospects through a series of labs that bring together university researchers, startup founders, and venture capitalists.
Additionally, the project will offer the two acceleration programs dedicated to startups that align with the project's themes. Companies and startups will have the opportunity to access fully equipped labs and virtual portals. They can experiment with exciting technologies like the digital twin, which grants access to the city's environmental monitoring network, as well as APIs that connect with transportation and urban traffic services. They can also explore APIs and a quantum computer simulator. It's an exciting opportunity to innovate and develop new solutions for a better future.
The availability of the laboratory infrastructure will also enable the experimentation of ideas, especially from a technological perspective. This offers the benefit of helping potential future entrepreneurs better define their service and/or product idea. It's an opportunity to explore and refine innovative concepts with the support of cutting-edge technology.
The laboratories will be developed with the involvement of startuppers, will necessarily have an operational and concrete slant, and will mainly focus on sharing the Lean startup, Agile and Customer development methodology. The application of these concepts within the business life constitutes a preliminary and necessary organizational innovation for the proposed contamination path.
