ACTION
Innovating Rural Water Management
ACTION DESCRIPTION
At the EGOS 2023 Colloquium, CREA UniCa has initiated an educational program focused on innovative water usage. This program is designed for local agricultural entrepreneurs with the aim of:
– Promote innovative water management techniques and to provide farmers with in-depth knowledge of innovative water management techniques. This includes learning advanced methods for water collection, irrigation, drainage, and water conservation, as well as the use of modern technologies and tools for efficient and sustainable water resource utilization in agriculture.
– Provide information to implement water management capabilities and to develop the necessary skills to implement sustainable water management practices in agriculture. This may involve learning drip irrigation strategies, employing cultivation techniques that minimize water loss, managing rainwater, and adopting soil conservation practices to enhance water infiltration and retention in the soil.
These objectives would assist farmers in understanding and adopting innovative approaches for sustainable water resource management in their agricultural practices. This could lead to more efficient water utilization, waste reduction, and water conservation, while simultaneously promoting environmental sustainability and increasing agricultural productivity.
