ACTION

Leave no one Behind” | biodiversity and art for an inclusive experience

ACTION DESCRIPTION

As part of the Egos2023 Good Life for All event organized by CREA, and in line with the objectives of Agenda 2030 Leave No One Behind, FA Travel, with the collaboration of the associations Atti d'arte, U-BOOT Lab and FAI Saline Conti Vecchi, presents two artistic directions : a performative and immersive audio 5.1 installation curated by Spanish artist Francisco López and an audiovisual multisensory installation curated by Iranian artist Amir B Ash and musicians Shahin Entezami & Saffronkeira.

The 5.1 audio immersive performance ('Hyper-Rainforest') is a sound work presented in the form of an installation, derived from original environmental recordings made by the artist Francisco López during twenty years of intense experience in forests and natural environments around the world. "Hyper-Rainforest" creates a perceptive and existential experience which, starting from the recordings, focuses on the phenomenological characteristics of sound as an autonomous entity, with the same ontological status as any other sound source. The installation is created to stimulate the senses and thoughts of the users, including any user in the spirit of maximum inclusion and experiential accessibility.

The Audiovisual Multisensory Installation connects the history, culture and biodiversity of the Conti Vecchi Saline with video-sound processing of sounds and images of the site. The audio and video elements representative of the place, acquired through field recording and shooting with a drone, are the object of the creative reworking which, through the use of realistic audio and video reading codes, transports the viewer on a dreamlike journey transcending conventional boundaries, capturing the imagination and creating an inclusive and accessible multi-sensory experience.

The work is designed for the widest participation and allows users to experience in an original way the complex and fascinating reality of the place where land, water, flora, fauna and historical production memory still merge today, making the Conti Vecchi salt pans one of the places of greatest cultural and environmental value of the city of Cagliari.

The installation and performance promote respect for the delicate ecosystem balances that intertwine humanity, animal and plant species and aspire to convey the message that through art it is possible, and often more effective, to raise awareness, create a sense of belonging, foster solidarity and generate inclusive communities.
